Last Thursday Wheeler Joe Woodhouse rode in the NMRRL (North Midlands Road Race League) event over 6 laps of the 5 mile course at Serlby. Woodhouse attacked and got away in a solo break on the 3rd lap but was brought back by the bunch on the 4th lap. Crashes made for a nervy last lap and Woodhouse finished strongly in the bunch.
On Bank Holiday Monday Trevor Mayne rode the Anfield BC 100 mile Open Time Trial. On a day when only eight of the eighty-two riders went under 4 hours, Mayne finished in 4h 17m 22s which placed him 31st overall and 19th on age handicap. It also set a new club age record for 54 years old.
Holiday commitments meant only Chris Jenkins and Phil Adams were out on the short Sunday club run to Langsett.
Tuesday sees the 1st of the club’s three 15 mile time trials starting at 7pm on Barrowfield Road Thurnscoe. Visitors welcome. Signing on is from 6.30pm.
Sunday’s club run sets off from Brewers Fayre roundabout Wombwell at 9:15 and heads out on an 80 mile loop to Wetherby. Visitors are welcome.
