Wheeler Trevor Mayne was the club’s only competitor in Rutland CC’s hill climb up Mam Nick in the Peak District. The climb of 2.1km has an average gradient of 10.1% and Mayne’s time of 8m 15.8s was good enough for 33rd overall and 1st in the 50 years and over age group. His time would have placed him second in the 40 – 49 year age group.

Birdwell Wheelers club run on Sunday saw Chris Jenkins, Steve Myatt and Philip Stewart Adams brave atrocious weather on a 40 mile loop to Askern and back.
This Sunday’s club run leaves Birdwell Aldi car park at 9:00 and heads out on a 65 mile route to watch Trevor Mayne compete in the Hill Climb at Beeley near Chesterfield. Visitors are welcome.
