5th June 2019
There were club runs on both days last weekend. On Saturday Dave Hudson, Rob Parkes, Alan and Lucy Bullock completed an epic 120 mile route to Ashbourne in Derbyshire taking in over 10,000 feet of climbing. They were joined by Roger Bacon and Marc Peasegood who had to turn back at Grindleford and Bakewell respectively.
On Sunday defying the poor weather forecast Chris Jenkins, Philip Stewart Adams
Mark Lafferty and Austin D Watson rode another very hilly route out to Hathersage covering 80 miles and climbing 6,500 feet
Last Tuesday’s 5 mile TT at Thurgoland was unfortunately cancelled due to torrential rain and last Saturday Trevor Mayne’s 50 mile TT in Nottingham was cancelled at the last minute due to roadworks on the course. The last of the club’s 5 mile time trials at Thurgoland is this Tuesday at 7pm. Visitors are welcome.
Sunday sees the club’s annual hilly Audax event comprising a 65 mile route over Holme Moss, Glossop, Snake Pass and Jawbone Hill at Oughtibridge. Start from Birdwell Community Centre at 9am. Entries will be accepted on the day.
